XM Blenders. Which model do I need?

June 17, 2020 Español   Français   Deutsch   Italiano   Português

At first sight, the hand blender is a relatively simple machine. However, when faced with the wide range of models available, we might wonder which model we need. Powers, arm lengths, speeds, functions... this brief guide will allow us to identify the best model for each user.

To choose the model of immersion blender that best suits a user's needs, we have to answer three questions:

  1. What is the size of container I'm going to work with? This question is key to choosing the right model of blender. An oversized model will be unnecessarily tiring and a model that is too small will take too long to obtain the expected result or will not be able to blend the contents of the entire container.
  1. Do I need to chop, mix or both? Depending on the response, I can choose a blender, mixer or combi. Or, for example, buy a variable speed blender with the idea of equipping it with a whisk at a later date. The series 20,30 and 50 devices have whisks.
  1. Do I need a device that can function automatically? If I'm going to use the blender relatively intensively it may be advisable to be able to hook it to the container and leave it running for a while. This is possible with the series 30, 50 and 70 devices.

Focusing on the new generation of Sammic XM hand-held electrical devices, each series has been manufactured with a purpose, so we can give some general guidelines of the intended use of each one:

The series SX or 10 is intended for small productions, mise-en-place and support for serving. It is small, light and easy to handle. The variable speed makes it suitable for a range of uses in the kitchen without the need to change tools. It is designed to work in containers with capacities of up to 10 litres.

The series S or 20 is suitable for small restaurants. These are compact models available with 2 different arm lengths, to work in containers of up to 12 or 15 litres. All the models have variable speed and it is possible to equip them with a whisk.

The series M or 30 is suitable for working in containers of between 30 and 60 litres, according to the length of the arm. It is recommended for general use in medium-sized restaurants and collective kitchens. The blender is fixed speed, and the mixer and combi are variable speed.

The series L or 50 is designed for large productions in restaurants and central kitchens. Depending on arm length, it can work in containers up to 80 or 120 litres. The blender is fixed speed, and the mixer and combi versions are variable speed.

The series XL or 70 is designed for large communities and central kitchens, to work in containers up to 200 or 250 litres.  In this case, there is no mixer option and the speed is always fixed.
